We purchased our house in March and it has taken till last month to decide on curtains for our living room and dining room. After many hours of searching online for curtains that would not only fit my taste but also please the hubby I finally came up with an inexpensive and simple idea, drop cloth curtains.
We purchased the drop cloths from our local Home Depot and then cut each cloth in half long-ways. I then added a hem along the cut edge to prevent from unraveling after washing.
To create the top I simply folded the top downward about 18in and then back to the top. I then punched holes across the top for the hooks.
To hang the stars I simply hot glued a piece of jute to the top of each star.
To hang the curtains I purchased dollar store shower hooks and spray painted the hooks with the same paint. The shower hooks makes it super easy to move the curtains or take them down to laundry them. This was very important to me since I was dealing with pipes secured into the wall. Who wants to unscrew and remove all the screws etc to wash curtains. I sure don’t, so it had to be simple and easy to remove.
I love my new curtains and they look amazing with pallet trim and wall. I can’t wait to move on to my next DIY project. Stay tuned!
