I first cut letters out of vinyl sheets using my Cricut machine and placed them on the crate making sure they were on tight and in the right place.
The crate was built using dry pallet wood that was fairly light in color. To give the crate a washed look I first white washed over the letters with a white wash.
After finishing a layer of white wash I added red paint on top of the white wash.
After covering the crate in red paint, I carefully removed the letters.
As soon as the red paint was about dried, I added another white wash layer and a brown wash layer in various areas to give the paint job a more rustic and old wood look.
