My kitchen is starting to take place piece by piece. It’s a work in progress, that’s for sure.
Since finishing my kitchen island I’ve desired a hanging light feature, but that would involve an electrician. I really didn’t want to hire an electrician to run electric at this point, what if I change my mind. So I decided to hang the lantern with the battery operated candle that I already had.
I picked up a black chain, S rings and a hitching ring from Home Depot. Everything was silver except for the chain. To change the look to match the lantern, I spray painted the heads of the screws, hitching ring and S rings using the metallic paint left over from another project.
After everything dried, I mounted the hitching post to the header and hung the lantern.
Now I have a hanging lantern above my bar for a fraction of the price. I used items I already owned and created something I wanted. That’s a win-win!
Not only can you save money, but you can breath new life into items you already have. Dust them off and put them to use.
Thanks for stopping by!
