I bet you’re wondering what “Heap of Change” is all about. Donna over at Funky Junk Interiors has challenged her readers to clean up that clutter by giving it away or throwing it out.
Do you have a heap of shame?
Do you have to wade through piles just to start a project or are you limited work space because of massive piles of junk?
If you do, this challenge is for you.
I’ve taken the challenge and I’ve picked the coat closet. Yes, it’s a small area, but a very heavily used and over junked area in my home that desperately needs cleaned!
Yes, it’s shameful. Very!
The horror! Do you see the Halloween skull on the top shelf. Yep, I think there is something from almost every holiday in that closet.
Jackets, pillows, blankets, CD’s and holiday decorations are crammed in that crazy little closet.
You won’t believe how much junk is really in there till you see…
Yikes! Can you believe all that junk was crammed in there. That’s not all of it.
I even found 3 extension cords in that pile of crap. I was looking for those over Christmas break. Who knew they were hiding in the rubble?
Ok, I showed you the shameful clutter, it’s time to show you the after.
Look there’s the fire safety box. Yeah, that was in there too.
Wow, now we can actually find our coats when we need them.
The box holds the blankets for the moment till I find a more suitable container. All other items were either thrown out or sent to the basement. That’s an amazing difference.
The basement…
That’s a whole new topic of shame.
Who knows, maybe we’ll visit that area.
Do you have a heap of shame to share? Take the challenge and post about it. Join everyone over at Funky Junk Interiors on Thursday and link up your post. If you don’t have a blog and still would like to play along, you can join everyone on the Funk Junk Interiors Facebook Page.
