I’ve been busy shopping.
Not just ordinary shopping, curbside shopping. That’s right, I’ve been driving around looking for discarded treasures.
Every year our town holds spring cleanup over four weeks. The town is divided up into four sections and each section is assigned a week. During the assigned week, you may place items you wish to discard out on the curb.
All week our sanitation department drives around town picking up the discarded items. For Free!
Lucky for us, we’re able to pick up any item you want along the way. So if you’re someone who scraps metal, looking for wood pieces or someone who just wants to turn some discarded treasure into something spectacular, you’re in luck.
Imagine four weeks of junkin!
It’s funny how curb shopping freaks some people out. You may or may not be surprised to hear how some people react to curbside shopping or junkin, if you will.
It’s also funny how time changes people or maybe just me. I used to think curbside shopping was crazy or gross. But, now that I’m older I look forward to it.
You would be surprised what people throw out.
Before I built my pallet shed, I drove around looking for doors and windows. Why not, they’re free to take.
If you missed my pallet shed post… Pallet Shed
Anyways…
This year I picked up a few items.
A garden hose or two.
A small bed frame.
A large and awesome headboard. Love it!
I’m looking forward to the last week of shopping. Hopefully, I find something even better. You never know.
I can’t wait to use my discarded treasures. Stay tuned.
