When we started the remodeling of our kitchen over a year ago, I had a game plan.
So I thought!
I knew what I really liked and didn’t like. I collected photos of kitchen details on my Pinterest account. I saved photos of products on a wish list on my laptop. I had a picture of the end result locked inside of my brain.
Then, life happened…
My plan was taking a lot longer then anticipated. Money was needed elsewhere. Plans were put on hold while priorities came first.
The kitchen had to wait. (sigh)
Over the last year, we ripped out the wall, fixed the kitchen floor, bought a few appliances and painted the walls more then once.
One major problem in the original kitchen was storage. Or, should I say no storage. Where did the previous owners store their kitchen gadgets. Maybe, they didn’t actually use the kitchen. Maybe, they ate out all of the time.

I needed a place to store the oversized skillets in my kitchen. With literly only one cabinet for pots and pans, the skillets occupied more space then their share.
I needed a solution that wasn’t costly.
I had an idea.
When I turned a few old clamps into shelves, I also hung a piece of an old ladder just below the shelves.
At the time, I wasn’t sure what I would hang on the ladder. But, I liked how it looked.

I grabbed a few pieces of jute and tied a few slip knots from each of the skillets. I then hung them on the ladder and took a step back.
Hmm, that will work.
Simple, cheap and now the old ladder has a purpose.
I love how things work out. I didn’t have a plan, It just happened.
I love projects solutions that happen on the whim. Do you?
Did you stumble on a quick easy solution to a problem?
I would love to hear all about it. Drop me a short story in the comments below.
As always, thanks for stopping by.
