One thing I wanted to do during this writing challenge was to call attention to the pallet community. There are tons of amazing people in the world using their talents to create the most amazing creations.
Some are down right amazing.
One place to find amazing pallet creations is on Facebook. That’s where I ran into The Pallet Head Co.
The Pallet Head Co. has tossed the typical canvas to the curb by turning shipping pallets into works of art.
I was lucky enough to score an interview and here’s what they said:

Q. Tell us a little about your business.
A. The Pallet Head Co began out of boredom, a pallet and scraps wood lying around. Our first piece was a red and natural striped pallet with a 3D blue star that hung out over the edges.
Q. How did you learn what you know today?
A. A combination of carpentry and art experience, along with trial and error has brought us to where we are today.
Q. How long have you worked with pallets?
Our company is new and growing every day. Our first pallet was created Spring of 2015.
Q. What inspired you to work with pallets?
A. Initially, we were just experimenting. We posted a pic of our first pallet on Facebook, people thought it was cool and different, so we made some with vines which sparked more interest. Which, in turn, inspired us to try new mediums on the pallets. Now, it’s the people who like, share and comment on our art, some close to home some across the oceans, that inspire us to keep creating new pieces. We love working together and collaborating with our clients to push the boundaries and make pallet art that is unique. We hope to inspire others along the way.
Q. What are your go-to tools of the trade?
A. We use everyday art supplies like paint, brushes, stencils, along with decals and specialty vinyl. It just depends on the look and style the client wants.
Q. Anything else you would like to share?
A. We are in awe of the support we are getting from family, friends and strangers alike. We love what we do and our clients inspire us to keep creating every day. You never know when an idea, even one that started out of boredom and with no real direction, can take off and help bring you closer to your dreams.
It’s your dream. Go Get It.
The Pallet Head Co. are fulfilling their dream of building a family farm by using their talent to create art pieces using pallets. They’re not only saving a pallet from the landfill but turning into something special for their clients while filling a need.
That’s my favorite part!
