Hey, I’m so glad you stopped by. Today, I’m sharing my latest DIY project. I added open shelving in the kitchen to accent the rustic hood. The shelves accent the hood and they allow for a place to add color to the room.
It just so happened I had the perfect brackets in the basement for the open shelving in the kitchen.
I dusted the brackets off and spray painted them black.
To hang the brackets in the desired location, I used 3in. wall anchors.
Then, I cut 2in x 8in boards to the desired lengths.
Each board was stained using a dark walnut stain.
I then arranged the red items and adjusted the shelves to the perfect height for the items.
After moving items and shelves around, I finally achieved the look I was going for.
And, one lonely basket. (It’s empty at the moment but not for long.)
I envision something red!
Eventually, I will add a few more items and arrange things as I dig through my stash in the basement. But, for now, I’m loving the pop of color.
What do you think about the color? Love it or leave it?
