Redecorating Your Home on a Budget IS Possible
Redecorating your home can be a costly, stressful event. But, it doesn’t have to be. There are many frugal ways to redecorate your home; even when you live on a tight budget. With the amount of DIY television shows, websites and tutorials available today, redecorating has become even easier. Sit down and use your imagination and you will see just how easier such a decorating endeavor will be.
* The first, easiest step to redecorating is rubbish removal. Do you have a junk collection somewhere in your house? A spare room that is primarily used for storage? You can easily turn that room into a guest room. Sort through the items in the room. If you have not used an item in the last year, chances are you no longer need it. Toss it. Either throw it out in the waste disposal pile if it is no longer usable, donate it, sell it to make money to fund your redecorating project, or try recycling it. Is it an item that can be re-purposed?
* That brings me to my second point. Many items you already have lying around the house can be re-purposed or recycled. Do a proper and thorough house clearance and see what items you actually have. You won’t even need to go out and buy new home decor. Do you have a junk collection of old jars? Turn them into candle holders or storage containers. You can paint them, frost them, glue decorative items on them, etc. to become decorative items in your new guest room, or redecorate and reorganize your pantry. You can turn old sheets and other fabric items into throw pillows, curtains, maybe even a new quilt for the guest room.
Maybe you stumbled upon some old wood or piece of furniture during your waste removal process. Create your own storage spaces for the items you have left. Try building your own desk, small table or shelves from these pieces. You can easily build a simple headboard from reclaimed wood. Even if you don’t have any building materials lying around the home, it is often cheaper to purchase them than to go out and buy all new furniture pieces.
Redecorating your home does not need to break the bank. If you are low on cash but feel the need for a change in the surrounding, there are many cheap ways to do this while still keeping an elegant and comfy feeling in your home. Most of the items you need are already in your home, you just need to make a sweep in a garage clearance or a cellar clearance effort to draw out what could be deemed helpful.
