Why You Should Use Gym Wipes
With more and more people making active steps to reach their fitness goals, gyms are more popular now than ever before. Whether gym junkies are spinning, doing CrossFit, or running a few laps on the treadmill, it’s never been more important to focus on good etiquette and cleanliness. So, how can fitness enthusiasts stay healthy at the gym? From the use of gym wipes to good hygiene habits, let’s take a look at some essential tips that can keep everyone happy and healthy.
Good Gym Etiquette
Successful gyms inevitably have two things that are always present: a lot of people and a lot of sweat. All of those active people are bound to leave some sweat on the equipment and the last thing anyone wants when they go to the gym is to come in contact with someone else’s bodily fluids.

Cleaning up equipment after you use it is one of the basics of gym etiquette as described by the Baltimore Sun. Since you probably won’t want to hop on a stationary bike with someone else’s sweat on it, it’s good to get in the practice of wiping up your own sweat.
Reduce the Spread of Flu Germs
Wiping off gym equipment with antibacterial wipes is a great way to cut back on the spread of germs. The season for getting back in the gym and getting sick are often the same time of year. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention says that flu viruses may stay on surfaces up to 8 hours. In fact, some studies have shown that other bacteria may remain on hard surfaces for up to 24 hours. With those statistics in mind, remember that a few sick people could infect everyone if machines aren’t properly wiped down.

Keep Your Skin Clean
Aside from the spread of viral pathogens, cleaning fitness equipment is a great way to prevent the spread of skin diseases. According to Wink News, warmth and moisture that is usually present at gyms can breed MRSA and other staph infections. Gym users may not know they are harboring a skin infection, or they may not be careful. So, it’s a good habit to wipe equipment clean before you use it to protect yourself.
They’re Easy to Use
Gyms may use a wide array of cleaning supplies for their fitness equipment, but gym wipes are the most convenient for keeping equipment clean. They are great for gym owners to supply to their customers, and they are easy for people to carry along with their gym stuff. You no longer need a spray bottle or a pile of towels, just grab a wipe, clean up the equipment and toss it in the trash. Nice clean surfaces make for healthier gym customers.
If everyone pitches in to help keep gym equipment clean, then the chances of spreading viruses and other germs decrease exponentially. As a result, everyone can enjoy going to the gym to work on their personal health and wellness goals. So, pay it forward and take a little extra time wiping down that equipment!
