Rediscover your childhood by engaging your children in millions of creative outdoor activities that are far better than behind the screen virtual reality. Most of us had no tech-gadgets and yet still managed to enjoy outdoors. Instead, it felt boring to sit indoors watching TV or playing a PC game. We learned early in life that we can connect, socialize, and enjoy our evenings’ outdoors. Flashbacks must be lingering in your mind right now, but what is wrong with your young ones? Why can’t they have more fun outdoors? Do they need your assistance to show them the way? Yes, absolutely yes!
Be a guide and teach them how to spend quality time without the gadgets. Or else they are endangering their lives and losing their health day after day. To help you out with what can attract these kids, I have compiled a list of fun and engaging activities that will even convince you to relive your childhood with your children.
- Start Plantation—Gardening
Gardening is truly an interesting activity that will help your children learn how to grow a plant. It is a relaxing activity and can enhance the kids’ knowledge of different plants. Firstly, give them a seed of a plant to sow and grow. Secondly, teach them how to weed it and when to water it. They would learn to care for the plant as it will grow. As for a kitchen garden in your backyard, you can ask your kids to pick the ripe ones. However, don’t get them involved with the plantation of vegetables as it can be tricky at time.
- Move at Ease—Hoverboards
For the lazy father and son—the hoverboards are a great start. It is fun to design activities that involve the usage of hoverboards, for example, using it to pass through a path full of obstacles with great precision. It will improve the focus of your child. Still unsure of what is a hoverboard? It is the most amazing gadget out there.
Go out for shopping (when the market is nearby) with your kids on your hoverboards, it can be fun to do it together to increase your bonding. However, racing on the pavements or roads is not recommended at all. Just go slow and share stuff with each other.
- The Cleaning Task—Mission Clean Up
Provide them with shampoo and a bucket of water to wash their bicycle or tricycle on a sunny morning out in the garden. It is a great way for them to learn how to take care of their belongings. Along with them, you can wash your car and have some fun with water!
- Uncover the Mystery—Treasure Hunt
Figure out a place, hide a few things, leave some parchments around the place with puzzles written on them, and draw a map. It is best to hide the kid’s favorite things or gifts for a treasure hunt. The place should be outside your home in an open area with a lot of obstacles and challenges. Take your children to the place and let them unwind the mystery and find the secret/treasure. After all, curiosity is human nature!
- Boost Your Health—Bike Riding
For your couch potatoes, nothing could be better than a bike riding routine. Set a daily challenge, go out together, and ride the bike. It is a full body workout and activates the mind as well. It improves both your physical and mental health. Keep increasing the challenge to keep the activity more fun. Change your tracks, choose a path filled with obstacles, learn some tricks, and keep making it cool every day.
