Fortnite took 2018 by storm and has since become a cultural phenomenon. The game is obviously fun, with adventures that the players can live through their in-game character. Then there’s the fact that the weapons and gadgets are all cleverly designed, and in order to succeed, some tactical skills are needed as well.

With all the fun that kids and adults alike have in playing Fortnite, how about taking some of that enjoyment out into the real world with a real-life scavenger hunt? This can either be done in groups or individually, where the guest to find the most items on the list wins.
Just prepare the following items:
- Battle Royale Balloons
Nothing says Fortnite party than some Battle Royale balloons decorating the party area, greeting the guests as soon as they come in! Not only do these make for easy decorations, but guests can also take them home as party favors.
- Battle Royale Chug Jugs
Fill these up with “slurp juice” (which can be any flavored juice or sports drink), and hand them out to guests to drink. To make them more in line with the theme, print out labels to stick on the chug jugs. Guests can carry these around with them throughout the scavenger hunt in case anyone gets thirsty.
- Toy Guns
These can either be used as accessories and favors for kids or be hidden as a part of the items that players need to search for. To make it more interesting, an option would be to get squirt guns that players can use to “battle” against one another in another game at the end of the scavenger hunt.
- Toy Shovels
For buried items, hand out toy shovels to each player. In order to avoid having all the soil excavated in the backyard, however, designate an area in one corner of the yard where players can use their toy shovels to dig for loot or treasure items.
- Treasure Map
Scavenger hunts typically start off with a list of items that players need to find. But to make things interesting, why not prepare a treasure map? In line with the Fortnite theme, there can be areas on the map named after islands in the game, with specific items that players need to find on each “island.”
- Fortnite V Coins
V coins are the currency used in Fortnite to purchase in-game items. They’re also perfect items for scavenger hunts. Some party stores do sell these as ready-made Fortnite party supplies, but they can also be created DIY with some chocolate gold coins or poker chips and printed V coin labels. Before the party, hide these in the designated areas for players to find.
- Treasure Chests
In the game, the chest holds some pretty awesome loot. These chests can be used in a scavenger hunt to contain similar toy loots that are a part of the items that players need to look for.
- Med Kit
A life-sized medkit can be the perfect prop for an outdoor scavenger hunt. Or it can be a storage container with a specific item from the list that would require a code to unlock.
- Supply Llama
A tiny llama toy can be hidden in secret locations as part of the scavenger hunt. Another way to utilize a Supply Llama is to have a llama-shaped piñata that can be filled up with different Fortnite toys and items. The piñata can be broken toward the end of the party, with players scrambling to get their choice of Fortnite items to take home.
- Fortress Cupcake Toppers
After a fun and energetic treasure-searching activity, treat guests with some delicious cupcakes decorated with Fortress cupcake toppers. It should be a sweet way to end a scavenger hunt!
There are several ways that the scavenger hunt can be played out, from something as simple as finding the most number of V coins hidden around the backyard, to a full-on treasure hunt complete with riddles to solve. The great thing about a Fortnite theme is that the game itself is full of ideas that can be recreated in real life. With these items on hand, not only will a Fortnite scavenger hunt be the highlight of any party, but guests can also take home some awesome-themed party favors.
