The holiday season is upon us, which means lots of special events and parties. An occasional birthday party may happen as well, so you will probably find yourself in need of many amazing outfits that fit the occasion. So, here is our little guide on how to dress for different types of parties.
Birthday party outfits
Let’s talk about birthday parties first, since these tips can come in handy any time of the year. If it’s a casual birthday party, the most stylish and comfortable combination is high waisted jeans and an interesting blouse. You can go for ruffled sleeves, or maybe fun prints like floral, or animal. You can tuck the shirt in, and pair everything with amazing pointy-toe pumps. Mini purses are trendy now, so complete the look with one that matches your outfit, and add some big hoop earrings and you are ready to go.
New year’s party
New Year’s is a special night when we usually like to be a little extra and dress up. It is the perfect opportunity to take out our fashionable gala dresses and do a full glam look. Lace, sparkles, ruffles, nothing is too fancy. A sequin midi dress will look elegant, yet chic and festive. You can pair it with some shiny earrings and ankle strap sandals. Throw on a blazer or a long coat, and you will look fabulous. If you like something a bit subtler, a silk wrap dress is a good choice since it flatters all body types, and looks feminine and stylish. Besides, a dress like this is a perfect outfit to start the New Year.
Club dance party
If you like to dance your night away, and you like to visit the local clubs where you can go crazy to the popular hits, you have to have comfortable, yet fun party clothes. This is the perfect opportunity to take out your mini dress if you like wearing it. Pair it with an oversized blazer, so you tone it down a little, and as for the shoes, opt for a lower heel, or even stylish thigh-high boots, or sneakers. Masked ball
Yes, Halloween is close, but it definitely isn’t an occasion when you can wear your finest clothing. Instead, you should choose costumes and fun masks. However, a masked ball requires the best black-tie outfits. Maxi dresses, sequined dresses, luxurious attire, fancy hairstyles, red lipstick, and of course masks. Make sure your dress is not too revealing, so if you opt for cleavage pick a maxi or midi dress, and if you choose a shorter dress, don’t wear a cleavage. You can have fun with props like umbrellas, gloves, hair accessories, and hats.
Dinner party
A dinner party is a perfect mix of a formal and casual, relaxed atmosphere where you can dance, eat, and have fun talking to people. The first outfit we would recommend is white, ankle-length, skinny pants with a wrap, silky top in any color you like. Take out your favorite pumps, and a wristwatch and your outfit are complete. The other suggestion is a pleated skirt with ankle boots, and a shirt or even a t-shirt with a print. You can add a two-buckle belt or a belt purse, for a trendy, chic look.
College party
A college party is an occasion when you can be endlessly creative and have fun. Anything from skinny jeans, mini skirts, and dresses, crop tops, and hoodie dresses paired with heels is perfect. You can follow the newest trends, wear neon, off the shoulder blouses, oversized sweaters, and mix and match prints. Make sure it is comfortable enough you can dance and have fun all night long, and let your imagination go wild.
