What have you got in mind for this year? Are you thinking about projects for your home? Are you thinking of things that the kids need? Perhaps you have a to-do list as long as your arm already? But have you thought about you, just you? We spend much of our time thinking about what everyone around us needs that we often neglect to concentrate on ourselves and what we might need. That is why today we are sharing with you 3 things to do for yourself this year, a little inspiration for you.
Learn something new
There are so many benefits to learning new things. First and foremost, it is fun and stimulating to do so and you come away from the experience equipped with a new skill or knowledge.
Learning new things also boosts your self-confidence, it improves your memory function, it challenges you and it develops your creativity. It can also spark a new hobby, career or friendship.
You might want to pursue your formal education, or perhaps you’d love to try a photography course? Maybe you have always wanted to learn how to swim or you could try a new yoga class online. There are literally endless possibilities here, just go for something that appeals to you.
Start your own business
More and more people are taking the leap and starting their own business, so if this is something that you have been toying with, perhaps now is the right time for this one.
Maybe you want to make your own candles or start your own window cleaning company? Maybe you are yearning to write a book or perhaps you love the idea of being a dog groomer? It might be that you are happy with your current work, but you would rather work for yourself or as a freelancer.
Whatever the dream is, take some time to think it through and sketch out some plans for it. Take things step by step and before you know it, you could be living that dream.
Make more time for the things that you love
You are always going to have plenty to do, which is unlikely to change this year. But what can change is your perspective and your mindset. If you prioritize making more time for the things that you love, you will find that you can do so.
This can be absolutely anything that you know makes you happy or calms and centers you. Think about what you would do if you had all the time in the world, and those things that jump into your mind and the things that you are going to want to do more of.
You might love to dance, then aim to get out and do so every month. Perhaps reading helps you to switch off completely, then make it a habit to read for a while each evening. Most of us would be happy to spend more time with our friends and family, so book a few dates in and make it happen.
