There are times in life where we all suffer from different types of pain in our bodies. No one is invincible, and so we all can end up battling different things. It’s important though that regardless of what it is, you are making the effort to get it sorted, instead of ignoring it. Here’s what to do when you have eye pain.
Book In To Your Opticians
The first thing that you want to do is to book yourself into your local opticians. Unless it’s anything worse that requires you to go to A&E, it’s good to get yourself in for an emergency appointment in the opticians so that they can take a look and recommend what might be wrong with your eye or eyes depending on which one is in pain. Make sure that you are registered with an optician because, ideally, you want to be going on a regular basis anyway for health checkups. Book yourself in even if the eye pain is only slightly mild or happens to be something that is frequently coming back every so often. It’s better to have that peace of mind and get it checked, rather than letting it get any worse or doing any lasting damage to your eye that you don’t know it’s doing.
Stop Wearing Any Contact Lenses
There are lots of eye pains and problems that you can have like issues with your retina and having macular hole treatment to help it. When you’ve got eye pain, if you wear contact lenses, it’s important to take them out immediately. You don’t want anything in your eye, let alone something that is placed on the eye itself. That could be in itself what the problem is, and any contact lens infections can be severely damaging to the eye if they end up going untreated.
Flush It Out With A Solution
If you have an eye solution and this is usually related to contact lenses, but you can have eye solutions for dry eyes too, try to flush it out. Sometimes it can be a little dirt that’s aggravating your eye, and the worst thing you can do is wash it out with water because that will have bacteria in it that you don’t want going into your eye and making it worse. Try to flush it out continuously for a few minutes until you feel a difference. If you don’t, then that’s when you might need to get some emergency help.
Avoid Wearing Makeup
Wearing makeup is the last thing you want to do when you’re experiencing eye pain. You don’t want to be putting yourself into a worse situation by aggravating the eye any more than you need to, regardless of what you have on where you need to go out. Avoid wearing makeup and try to keep the eye area completely clean and void of anything.
Eye pain isn’t something that’s enjoyable, and so you want to get rid of that pain as quickly as you can. Use these tips to help that!
