Every new year brings new trends with it and 2021 (in this aspect) is no different. We could all use a positive space to get our work done so ring in the new year by revamping your workspace with the latest trends in office décor. Here are 5 of my favorite picks, these ideas are both gorgeous as well as budget-friendly (we all know January is 74 days long).

- Resimercial Design For 2021
Resimercial design is a delicate mix of commercial and residential design. This design trend makes employees feel at home in their working environment. With all the changes 2020 brought us, feeling safe in our workplace is of the utmost importance for 2021. The most important element of the “new office” is a chic (yet safe) space to video conference. Over half of all employees would prefer to work from home and it is important for your team members who can’t work from home to be able to stay in touch with those who can. When redoing your office for 2021, remember to make your workspaces as ergonomic as possible.
- Sustainable Accessories
One of the biggest trends for 2021 will be driving sustainable initiatives in workspaces. Think recycled, upcycled, or re-used for a truly trendy piece. You can make use of old tin cans, in so many ways, just by adding a simple coat of paint. This trend will require you to get into a different mindset, you need to think twice before throwing anything away – you might find a smarter use for it than simply chucking it away.
- Minimalist Trends Ahead
Minimalism has won, once again. Keeping your office areas sleek and minimalist goes a long way in keeping the space clean, a clean space is a safe space these days. For this reason, I am thrilled to see this trend surfacing again. Keep your décor accessories to a minimum and, if possible, choose ones that are made from natural materials like cotton, linen, wood, concrete, and rattan. Check out PureModern for a gorgeous organic mix with a minimalist vibe. This is the perfect way to inspire serenity and peace for your employees and co-workers.
- Trendy Office Colours for 2021
Blue is making a massive comeback in office spaces in 2021 – in all its possible shades; from the lighter blues to the deeper and darker versions, you’ll find a spot for your chosen blue in no time. If blues aren’t your thing then try honey and lemon, this uplifting color combination is sure to put a smile on your face. Other colour combinations making a splash this year are gray-greens and sage greens.
- Leisure Spaces Are Loved
Once we can get back to some semblance of what we used to consider “normal”, leisure spaces in the workplace will make a massive comeback. It is, however, important to note that there are some leisure activities that can be done safely during the pandemic as well. So many companies have realized the value of encouraging their employees to take breaks in between tasks and have specially dedicated areas for this to happen. Even if you just add a reading nook, for now, it will go a long way to ensuring your employees are satisfied in the long run.
