Not everyone has the funds for a gym membership or personal training. That doesn’t mean you can’t get fit, though. Stop letting your bank balance determine your fitness levels by using these seven ways to get fit on a budget.

1: Track Your Stats on a Mobile App
The App Store is filled with fitness apps that allow you to track your workouts, meals, weight, and more. Tracking your progress is helpful, as it will tell you what you are doing right. Plus, it helps you stay on track.
2: Drink Plenty of Water
Water is free and great for your body. When on a fitness plan, you must drink plenty of water, both when you’re working out and when relaxing. The great thing is the only item you need to buy for this is a water bottle, and you can find plenty for an affordable price.
3: Start Meal Planning
Meals quickly become expensive when you decide what to have on the day. Not only that, but it is much easier to eat an unhealthy meal when you haven’t planned what you are eating. A great way to avoid this is to start meal planning. At the beginning of the week, decide what nutritious meals you will have on Monday, Tuesday, and so on. You could also try batch cooking to reduce costs even further.
4: Purchase Home Equipment
If you can’t afford to join a gym or see a personal trainer, consider purchasing some home equipment instead. You can find plenty of great equipment for a fraction of the price of a year’s gym membership, allowing you to get your workouts in without draining your bank balance. Yoga mats are a great investment, as they are so versatile. There are plenty of great workouts you can perform on one.
5: Find an Affordable Gym
You don’t have to completely write off going to the gym even if you are on a budget. Some gyms are much cheaper than others, so look around at the ones in your area and compare the membership prices.
If you are a young/old person or a student, you might even be able to get a gym membership at a discounted price.
6: Walk and Run More
Some of the best workouts are those that don’t involve any fancy equipment, and that includes walking and running. While you will have to pay for gear like running shoes and shorts, that’s all you have to spend money on. Once you have your workout gear, the world becomes your gym. You could run through the park, take a walk around the neighborhood, or even start hiking around some interesting nature spots.
7: Watch Workout Videos
Another great way to workout at home is to watch workout videos. There are tons of free videos online made by professional fitness instructors, showing you great workouts with a background of upbeat music. It’s like joining a fitness class without the high price tag.
No one should avoid exercise and healthy food because of a lack of money. There are always ways to improve your fitness levels without spending a large amount of cash each month.
