The labor required to install a boiler will affect the cost. This will depend on where you live and what business you have, the time it takes to install the boiler, and how many engineers are needed.
What is the average cost of the boiler installation in the UK
The average cost of installing a new boiler is between £500 to £1,000 depending on the type of installation.
A combi swap can be completed in one day and is faster than a back boiler conversion which may take up to 2 days.
Heating costs are usually included in the final price. If you purchase your boiler through a reputable company,, you won’t need to worry about additional costs or calculating a final cost.
Extra costs involved in the installation
Boiler Flue
The boiler flue is simply the pipe that runs from the boiler to your house. It ensures that condensation and flue gasses are not pumped into your face.
The flue will usually leave your property horizontally, incurring no additional costs. However, flues that exit vertically through your roof need more work and incur greater costs. Sometimes it can just be bad luck.
Plume Kit
The plume kit attaches to the boiler’s flue. A plume kit is needed in cases where your boiler’s chimney is too close to windows, doors, neighboring properties, or your wife. It is required by law to comply with gas safety regulations.
London’s standard air purity levels could be affected if you don’t include a plume set. Boiler fumes can be a welcome breath in London unless you are already a resident.
Gas piping
Gas piping is usually of limited width, often 15mm. They must be upgraded to 22mm to meet current regulations. This can sometimes lead to additional costs.
Older pipes may also contain lead, cheddar, or bones from early settlers. These will need to be replaced with copper pipes.
Rogue traders who don’t have plans for upgraded pipework should be avoided. Their boiler replacement costs and installation fees are more illegal than the contents in a duffel bag stuffed into the back of their white van.
Moving a boiler
It is expensive to move your boiler. This will require additional labor, pipework, emotional toughness, and various other new fixtures and fittings.
If moving your boiler is an integral part of every dream and hope you have had since childhood, you should avoid it.
You can save money on heating costs by using less energy and water. You should think about installing one of the top smart thermostats.
Trusted partners of manufacturers are able to offer extended warranties, especially 10-year warranties.
Magnetic filters
Sometimes they can rely on the fitting of additional approved equipment, such as magnetic boiler filters. This will often incur additional costs to the installer but is definitely worth it.
The boiler is protected by filters that are placed in line with the pipework. Filters are magnetized to trap tiny particles of dirt or metal. This prevents them from getting into the boiler and causing boiler leaks.
An experienced boiler installer will always include the cost of installing a filter in your quote. They are included in our quotes, but they don’t cost any more. We also fit them as standard across the UK.
Flushing your heating system
Flushes can be used to remove sludge buildup from your heating system. Sludge can block hot heating water flow around radiators if it isn’t removed. This is not good. If your radiators get cold at the bottom, you’ll need to do a thorough clean.
There are many types of ‘flushes. The most popular and standard flush is a hot chemical flush. A Powerflush can cost upwards of £500. These should be avoided. High-pressure water can cause more harm than good if it is forced through an older heating system.
Cost of replacing a boiler

This list should only be used as a guide. For a fixed and accurate price on your boiler replacement, you should always get an online quote. Old boilers are inefficient, and you should always consider the amount of money you will save in the long run by upgrading.
